Daughter of Elias Jackson "Lucky" Baldwin (1828-1909). Baldwin had made fortune by getting key holdings in Comstock Mines at two dollars per share (1870) then selling out (1872) at $1,800 per share. He invested some of his money in Rancho Santa Anita development in San Gabriel Valley.
